PC cooling : 2x in front at rpm when CPU climb at max temps, 2x rear and rear-top with rpm. Like my old I5 had way better frequency control, power saving, and didn't jump in temperatures constantly.
Is there any way to stop that? I've even repasted CPU with different paste[the one that came with Mugen 5 rev b], saw a temp. So this fluctuations completely destroys any fan curve, and make my case fans too loud on idle.
I've tried to make a higher baseline RPM curve for lower temps, so it have more than enough cooling in low temps to manage the spikes, but it didnt help anything Though i doubt it, because it would need to be something like s of inertia, and there's no such value in BIOS. As a last resort i will try to use the stock cooler and check if it helps.
Maybe the mugen is defective? But then, why it works under heavy load? The frequency on all cores don't drop below mhz, and 1. I've never had such problems with Intel Pentium 4, E and I5 Never seen CPU running such high freq and voltage on idle.

The fan is constantly fluctuating, between and RPM's. On the desktop it isn't noticeable. I have been watching it in HW monitor since about 15 mins ago when, during a gaming session of PUBG, the fans were constantly fluctuating and without warning the computer shut down.

Is 40 - 50c on idle the normal temp for the 3800x?
From what I'm reading online this is normal, however some are saying that the motherboard manufacturers are having to update bios to account for this for stability and fan curves. The B Tomahawk using the smart fan set to CPU causes lots of constant up and down with the fan speeds.
I set the case fans to go off the system temp instead of the default CPU temp which seems to have helped. However I think there is something still with how the board is reading the CPU temps because the CPU fan and pump seem to rev up a lot even when the computer is just idling. I'm hoping MSI comes out with a stability bios update that helps with these weird temperature fluctuations with the Ryzen 7 X and smart fan curve.
Can you please use Prime95 to test your CPU under maximum stress. If the system is stable and cooling is appropriate, the CPU temperature should not fluctuate a lot. You mentioned that the CPU temperature seems to fluctuate a lot when the system is at idle.
Did you make sure that there were no programs running in the background in Windows 10? It would be helpful, if you can take screenshots of the curves of CPU usage or temperatures. Hopefully, the fluctuation is not dramatic. Hello The CPU temp fluctuates when it's at low or idle usage. When it's under a heavy load with like Prime95 or when playing a game it is fairly stable within a couple degrees.
At idle though it ranges from 28C to 50C and it's causing the CPU cooler to rev up and down almost constantly at idle. I've checked the cooler and the thermal paste and that is not the issue otherwise it would be overheating under stress testing. There are no programs running in the background when the temperature is fluctuating at idle.

Your Water pump provides good cooling, therefore, your CPU temp is only 27 degrees as shown in the picture. Also, pump fan set in DC mode is not ideal, as the fan just would not start spinning until the cpu temperature reaches the first point of your fan curve.
Fans not spinning at all for the CPU or other parts of the motherboard is not good. Lastly, your CPU temp being stable is excellent when the cpu is under heavy load. But I noticed that the CPU core voltage is over 1.

I finally have it stable so it is not oscillating anymore as well as it's a lot quieter at idle or low load.
Make sure your fans aren't connected to the "Pump Fan" header on the motherboard. That header is designed for high speed pumps and not case fans. I can verify the pump connector is going to the actual pump.
